It’s clear why the mandated two-stop strategy was introduced on Monaco: as was evidenced again on Sunday, overtaking in the Principality is almost impossible. This regulation change was brought in to try and spice up the race and keep the drivers on edge, forcing them to push to earn the victory.
There were obviously pros and cons to this two pit stop rule, so let’s take a close look at whether it worked...
