Max Verstappen took his first Sprint victory of the 2025 Formula 1 season, fending off both McLaren drivers in Belgium.

Verstappen took the lead from Piastri on the opening lap on the long drag to Le Combes, with Charles Leclerc also passing Lando Norris. But while Norris quickly regained third, his championship-leading team mate remained stuck to the Red Bull's gearbox.

Leclerc, Eseteban Ocon, Carlos Sainz, Ollie Bearman and Isack Hadjar completed the points-paying positions.

After exiting Sprint Qualifying in the first phase on Friday, Lewis Hamilton was unable to make significant progress, as he took the flag in 15th.
