HIGHLIGHTS: Relive Qualifying as Piastri secures pole position at the Dutch GP from Norris
Oscar Piastri secured his fifth pole position of the Formula 1 season, fending off McLaren team mate Lando Norris in a battle of small margins.
Oscar Piastri snatched pole position at the Dutch Grand Prix from his McLaren team mate Lando Norris in an entralling Qualifying session at Zandvoort.
Norris had led the way in all three practice sessions for the first time this season, but a slower initial Q3 lap compared to his team mate opened the door for Piastri to move to the head of the grid by 0.012s.
Max Verstappen set a purple middle sector on his final effort, but was unable to match the McLarens. Isack Hadjar also impressed, going fourth fastest for Racing Bulls.
Following his Friday crash, Lance Stroll again found the barriers in Q1, crashing his Aston Martin at Turn 13 before retiring with damage in the pits. Without a time, he was joined on the sidelines by Franco Colapinto, Nico Hulkenberg, Esteban Ocon and Ollie Bearman.
Alex Albon was left frustrated at Williams after setting the slowest time in Q2. Kimi Antonelli, Yuki Tsunoda, Gabriel Bortoleto and Pierre Gasly also missed out on positions inside the top 10.
