F2: Tsolov in control for Melbourne Feature Race victory
Nikola Tsolov claimed his, and Bulgaria’s, first FIA Formula 2 victory in Melbourne.

Campos Racing’s Nikola Tsolov claimed his and Bulgaria’s first victory in FIA Formula 2, winning the Melbourne Feature Race with a comfortable drive to the top step.
The Red Bull Junior Team driver started from fifth on the grid but was able to surge up to third on the opening lap.
That then became the race lead following contact between Rodin Motorsport team mates Martinius Stenshorne and Alex Dunne as the duo fought for the lead on Lap 3.
The Bulgarian managed the Safety Car restart, but lost the lead in the pit stop phase as Nico Varrone profited from a fortuitously-timed second Safety Car period.
The Van Amersfoort Racing driver pitted and emerged with the lead, but a decisive dive to the inside at Turn 11 after the restart gave Tsolov clear air once more.
From there, he managed the gap to Invicta Racing’s Rafael Camara, who wound up second on the podium.
Laurens van Hoepen completed the top three, securing his first F2 podium and TRIDENT’s first since 2024.
Oliver Goethe was P4 for MP Motorsport ahead of Ritomo Miyata of Hitech in fifth. Tasanapol Inthraphuvasak, Colton Herta, Gabriele Mini, Sebastian Montoya and Joshua Duerksen rounded out the top 10.
